Now people in Downtown Meridian can score freshly made bagels at the new Blue Sky Bagels, which opened in late October in a former chocolate shop at 126 E. Idaho Ave. near Generations Plaza. Situated next to Frankie’s Java, the latest store for this locally owned and operated chain doesn’t actually make the bagels on site. Instead, the bagels are made at the other Meridian location, 3161 E. Fairview Ave, and get delivered several times a day to ensure freshness. Blue Sky offers 14 kinds of bagels (savory and sweet) and nine varieties of cream cheese. Besides plain and whole-wheat, bagel flavors include Parmesan, garlic, sesame seed, poppy seed, cinnamon sugar, blueberry and more. You also can get sandwiches, soups and salads.
Blue Sky Bagels is in Downtown Boise at 407 W. Main St. and near the Hewlett-Packard campus at 12375 W. Chinden Blvd. Blue Sky in Downtown Meridian is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. For large bagel orders, call (208) 887-5726.
